Rubber‑sheathed cables are flexible, movable cables consisting of multiple strands of fine copper conductors, encased in rubber insulation and a rubber jacket. Generally, they include types such as general‑purpose rubber‑sheathed flexible cables, welding machine cables, submersible motor cables, radio‑equipment cables, and photographic lighting cables.

Rubber‑sheathed cables are widely used in a variety of electrical appliances, such as household appliances, electric machinery, and mobile power cords for electrical equipment and tools, and can be employed both indoors and outdoors. Based on the mechanical stresses they endure, these cables are classified into three types—light‑duty, medium‑duty, and heavy‑duty—in terms of their construction, with corresponding variations in cross‑sectional dimensions. Typically, light‑duty rubber‑sheathed cables are used for household appliances and small electric devices, where flexibility, lightness, and excellent bendability are required; medium‑duty cables, in addition to industrial applications, are extensively employed in agricultural electrification; while heavy‑duty cables are suited for applications such as port machinery, searchlights, and large‑scale agricultural hydraulic irrigation and drainage stations. These products exhibit excellent versatility, a comprehensive range of specifications, and reliable, stable performance.

Waterproof rubber-sheathed cables and cables for submersible pumps are primarily used as accessories for submersible motors.

Cables for radio equipment—currently, two types of rubber‑sheathed cables are manufactured (one shielded and one unshielded)—which generally meet the requirements.

Photographic cable products, in tandem with the development of new light sources, feature a compact design and excellent performance, meeting the demands of both indoor and outdoor applications, and are gradually replacing older, bulkier models with poor heat resistance.

Rubber-sheathed cables are classified into heavy-duty rubber-sheathed flexible cables, medium-duty rubber-sheathed flexible cables, light-duty rubber-sheathed flexible cables, waterproof rubber-sheathed flexible cables, and welding machine cables.
